Spa Skin Care-Superior Service or Just High-Priced Fluff?
The prevalence of spa skin care products and treatment options speaks to the extreme popularity this type of care is now experiencing. Are these skin care solutions really superior to those that you can find at the store or online? Must the top skin care products all come down to us from the spas? Are the most expensive skin care treatments the best or are they relatively the same as the options you can buy through more traditional venues?
Skin care or spa treatment options are indeed more expensive despite the fact that most of the products they use are actually sold in bulk containers. While many spas will sell you their “advanced skin care systems” in individual containers, these specially formulated treatments tend to do more harm than good. Sadly, many of the best beauty and skin care products available from the spas are made from chemicals and other synthesized “natural” ingredients.
Skin care-even advanced varieties from the spas and state-of-the-art laboratories-is not always effective especially if the body considers it to be some foreign agent or a toxin. If this is the case, then the body will increase its rate of oxidation in order to help flush the harmful substances from your system. One of the by-products of oxidation, however, is the free radical. In sufficient numbers, free radicals can destroy the effects of any antiaging skin care treatment-even the top end “spa” brands. Just some of the known damage caused by free radicals include:
- Elevated risk for heart attack or stroke
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol levels
- Increased chances for kidney or liver disease
- Problems with indigestion, constipation, and flatulence
- Poor eyesight
Because many of the new skin care treatments are made with ingredients and materials that are developed in laboratories, they are often considered to be toxins by your body. Although many of these advanced skin care treatments will seem to provide amazing results when it comes to hiding the fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging-they may be causing unseen damage that will not appear for months to years down the road. It is important to seek out only all natural skin care products if you want to avoid causing more damage than good to your body.
Beauty and skin care products made from all natural ingredients like the essential oils will help revitalize and regenerate your skin from within. In addition, because many are used as skin care ingredients, products made with essential oils should help control free radicals and remove toxins because many of these beneficial plant extracts are loaded with antioxidants (known to neutralize free radicals and provide a number of additional medical benefits).
Unless the spa skin care products are made from essential oils like Avocado or Camphor oil, they may not be worth the added cost and those made from harsh chemicals or other synthetic ingredients may actually be harming your fight against the effects of aging.
