Acne Treatment: Body Parts

Parts are parts, unless we're talking acne treatment body parts. It's well known that the face itself does not have one skin type all over. Neither does the body. Acne typically appears where there are the most sebaceous glands, like the face, the back, and the chest. The face is generally the most exposed part of the body and is subject to sun, chemicals, and daily living. Other parts of the body may be more protected, but still have acne outbreaks. So, how can one have one treatment for the face alone, much less the entire body? Here are some things to think about when you are deciding how to treat your body parts that have acne.

The Face

The face may have one skin on it, but not one skin type. The T-zone is generally recognized as the most vulnerable area on the face for acne due to it being oilier than the rest of the face. It consists of the area from your forehead down the bridge of your nose all the way to your chin. When outbreaks on the face occur, they are generally in this area, unless you have a severe case of acne all over your face. Treating the T-zone differently than the cheeks might help to keep the cheeks from drying out too much.

The Back

When acne appears on the back some people refer to it as "backne." It can be very uncomfortable if the acne is inflamed and you can't reach it to treat it. If you wear tight clothing that rubs up against your back, this will also tend to irritate the infection. Depending on the type of acne, mild or severe, one might be able to treat it quite well with natural treatments. One way to keep acne from forming on the back is to exfoliate it with a loofah on a stick to remove dead skin cells. Topical treatments involving lemon oil or tea tree oil can also work wonders. Acne treatment body specific to the back can include harsher treatments that used on the face.

The Chest

Women who wear tight bras or clothing may also irritate and provoke chest acne. If one is a fitness aficionado, extra perspiration can also clog the pores with dirt and cause acne on the neck and chest area. It can be easier to treat simply because you can reach it, unlike the back acne. Using either natural treatment, such as Skin So Silky, with lemon juice or lemon oil or even lotions with benzoyl peroxide can help clear this condition.

Different skin types require different acne treatment body parts. Sometimes a combination of acne treatments natural or conventional work together to target sensitive skin in some areas and more hardy skin, like that on the back.
